New Keyboard Shortcuts in Linkinize 2.0

With the release of Linkinzie 2.0 we’ve added multiple shortcuts to the extension which can supercharge your productivity and experience with Linkinize. These shortcuts enable power users to perform different actions such as opening the extension, adding a new link, and navigating through the links in seconds without leaving their keyboard.

In this blog post, we are going to talk about the shortcuts available for the Linkinize extension.

Before diving into available shortcuts, you should know that you can access the shortcuts help by clicking on your name on the bottom left of the extension and clicking on Shortcuts item in the drop-down menu. You can also toggle the shortcuts menu by pressing Ctrl+Shift+S on Windows and Cmd+Shift+S on MacOS.

Opening Linkinize

One of the most powerful and handy shortcuts of Linkinize is to open the extension dialog. Once Linkinize is installed on your browser you can toggle it by pressing Ctrl+Shift+L on Windows and Cmd+Shift+L on MacOS.

It is important to note that in some cases this shortcut might be taken by a different extension on your system. In this case you can configure this shortcut in the extension shortcuts settings of your browser.

Navigating and Selecting Bookmarks

Once you’re on a search screen you can use your keyboard arrow keys UP/DOWN to navigate through bookmarks, in this screen if you hold the Cmd/Ctrl key on MacOS/Windows, You will see a number appearing in front of each bookmark. by pressing that number while holding Cmd/Ctrl you will be able to open that link in a split second.

Copying a Bookmark Key

You can always copy a bookmark key by clicking on the copy icon in front of the bookmark you’re hovering with your mouse, thanks to Linkinize shortcuts for this action, you can also do it via your keyboard. Simply use the arrow up and down of your keyboard to navigate to the bookmark you want to copy the link for and then press Ctrl+Shift+C on Windows or Cmd+Shift+C on MacOS to copy your bookmark URL in the clipboard.

Selecting Multiple Tags on the Sidebar

If you wish to filter your results with multiple tags, simply hold Cmd/Ctrl on MacOS/Windows and click on the tag name.

If you have multiple tags selected on the sidebar you can simply remove all the filters by pressing Cmd+Shift+Z/Ctrl+Shift+Z on MacOS/Windows.

Switching Workspaces

To switch between workspaces you can press Cmd+Option/Ctrl+ALT on MacOS/Windows, this will trigger the Workspace switcher window, on this window you can hold Cmd/Ctrl and press the number displayed in front of your Workspace to quickly switch to it.
